GAMSP Names Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year

GAMSP Names Dr. Jeff Kelly as NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year

Dr. Jeff Kelly of Upson Lee Middle School has been named the 2018-2019 NAESP National Outstanding Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year representing Georgia.  GAMSP Executive Director Dr. Bob Heaberlin recognized Dr. Kelly at a surprise faculty meeting on April 23.  Jeff will be honored at the NAESP National Conference in Orlando, Florida in July.  Dr. Kelly’s leadership has been instrumental in Upson Lee Middle School being redesignated as a Georgia Lighthouse School to Watch four times.  He also was a participant in the GAEL Aspiring Principals Program.

GAMSP Names Sandy Tinsley as NAESP National Distinguished Principal of the Year

Sandy Tinsley, principal of South Forsyth Middle School, has been named the 2018-2019 NAESP National Distinguished Middle Level Principal of the Year for 2018-2019. GAMSP Executive Director Dr. Bob Heaberlin recognized Ms. Tinsley at a surprise faculty meeting on April 30.  Sandy will be honored at the annual NDP awards program sponsored by NAESP in Washington, DC in October.  Under Tinsley’s leadership, South Forsyth Middle School has received The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement Gold and Platinum Awards (2015-2017), Georgia School of Excellence Award (2010), and the National Blue Ribbon School Award (2014).
