Senator Lindsey Tippins Receives 2019 Allene Magill Award for Outstanding Public Service

Monday February 11, 2019

On Sunday afternoon at the Winter GAEL Conference, GAEL presented the 2019 Allene Magill Award for Outstanding Public Service to Senator Lindsey Tippins of Marietta.  No one has done more to support public education over the past ten years than Sen. Tippins.  He sponsored the legislation that led to dual enrollment, career academies, and the expansion of CTAE pathways.  He was fervent in his support and defense of public education and enthusiastically opposed any legislation that detracted from public education.

Having served on the Cobb County Board of Education for twelve years, three of which was a chairman, he knows public education inside and out and has been most vocal and supportive of all that we do.

We offer our most sincere appreciation to Sen. Tippins for being the public education hero.
