Call for Proposal for Presentation - GACIS 2016 Fall Conference

The Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Supervisors (GACIS) is seeking teams of school or school district administrators to present breakout sessions on Educational Leadership  at the 2016 GACIS Fall Conference, September 22 & 23, 2016 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA.

Michael Fullan, 2016 GACIS Fall Conference Keynote Speaker, states, “Leaders need to find the glue that will increase the coherence of the district and school efforts at every level and build a clear path to improve learning in demonstrable ways.  One component of the ‘glue’ is the ability to develop and sustain focused direction in the face of competing and complex demands internally and externally.   Coherence (2015) p. 17

Proposal submission deadline:  June 30, 2016
Breakout Presentation Sessions---Afternoon of September 22 and/or Morning of September 23
All sessions will be 75 minutes

Presentation Criteria
The session should highlight how schools and/or district leadership teams have demonstrated effective leadership that made a positive difference for students, teachers and/or community, such as
•    How the leadership strategy was developed and implemented
•    Built support, relationships, capacity, and partnerships to improve teaching and student learning
•    Establishing learning goals, effective instructional practices, and processes for students to practice and expand learning
•    Accountability and continuous improvement
