Special Education Leadership Development Academy (SELDA)

For new special education directors

 


Registration for all 5 SELDA meetings for new special education administrators is $250.00. (This includes meals and snacks for the 5 sessions and one year’s membership in all 4 professional associations for special education administrators in Georgia: Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE), Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) for new special education directors (and/or one additional person) who have never attended SELDA or a New Special Education Directors’ Academy. These memberships alone are worth $334.00.

The purpose and focus of SELDA is to prepare new special education directors. So participation in SELDA 2011-12 is limited to new special education directors (in the first 3 years of service) and/or one other special education leader per school system.

There is no charge for registration for veteran special education administrators willing to serve as mentors to new special education leaders attending SELDA. Your registration does not include memberships:  it does include meals and snacks.  Mentors are encouraged to register for SELDA and attend as many meetings as possible. (We understand you may not be able to attend all sessions.)
