Speakers to include:

Hall Davidson taught middle and high school English, mathematics, Spanish, and bilingual mathematics. He left the classroom to teach math on television in Los Angeles on an Emmy-winning program and spent 20 years at PBS stations teaching and leading staff developments in person and on-air. While producing television series on education and technology, he led a media consortium serving 28 districts and 400,000 students. He has contributed articles to national educational publications. With a team he founded Kitzu.org, a resource of free online kits to encourage project-based learning with media. He served on the board of Computer-Using Educators for six years and consulted for media corporations and professional organizations. For a dozen years he coordinated the nation’s oldest student media festival, the California Student Media Festival. He was site chairperson at his children’s elementary school where the categorical budget required his signature. His undergraduate studies were at Vanderbilt and George Peabody College of Education and his graduate work at UCLA and CSU with an MS from Pepperdin. He joined Discovery Education in 2005 where he blogs, creates webinars, and works in educational partnerships and Global Learning Initiatives as a director of the Discovery Educator Network, connecting thousands of teachers nationwide. He has spoken about technology and education to audiences around the world. In 2011, he received the prestigious "Make IT Happen" award, an internationally recognized program from ISTE for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools.

Dr. John Barge was born and raised in Cobb County, Georgia, graduated from Campbell High School in 1984, and attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia on academic and journalism scholarships where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1988.
John has earned three advanced degrees, a master’s degree and a specialist’s degree from the State University of West Georgia and his doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of Georgia. In his 20 years in education, Dr. Barge has served as a high school English teacher, middle school Spanish teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He also served as the State Director of Career, Technical and Agriculture Education for the Georgia Department of Education. John has been recognized as a STAR teacher in 1996, as Georgia’s Assistant Principal of the Year in 2001, and received the Berry College Alumni Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2005.
Prior to becoming State School Superintendent, John served as the Director of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction with the Bartow County School System.
Phil Hartley obtained his J. D. Degree from the University of Georgia Law School in 1979 where he was a member of the Georgia Law Review, Order of the Coif and Phi Beta Kappa.  He was a founding partner of Harben & Hartley Law Firm in 1980 and has represented public school districts throughout his legal career.  He has conducted seminars and training sessions throughout the state and country on issues of school law and published articles on various aspects of school law in numerous publications.  The firm also serves as general counsel to the Georgia School Boards Association and as an advisor to the Georgia School Superintendents Association and Georgia Association of Educational Leaders.
