
Lisa Franklin
Lisa Franklin, Washington County Schools’ Director of School Improvement – Curriculum and Instruction, is now completing her 30th year in education. She was formerly a middle grades English and reading teacher (12 years) and assistant principal for instruction (11 years) at Elder Middle School. During her tenure at the middle school, it was named a School of Excellence three times and received a Pay for Performance Award. At the central office, her duties include managing all federal programs as well as the CTAE program, serving as system test coordinator, facilitating the development and implementation of the system consolidated improvement plan, supervising and delivering professional learning, serving as certification officer, and coordinating the system’s curriculum and instructional program. She received her BS in Middle Grades Education from Georgia College in 1980; her Master’s in Middle Grades Education from Georgia College in 1984; and her Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from Georgia College in 1995. She is a member of GAEL, GACIS, Phi Delta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. Mrs. Franklin is a life-long resident of Washington County and is a product of its public schools. She and her husband, Tim, have one adult son.
