Claire Miller
Claire Miller is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Barrow County School System. She has worked with Barrow County Schools for 16 years in a variety of roles: Spanish teacher at Winder-Barrow High School and Apalachee High School, Track and Cross Country Coach at Winder-Barrow High School, Administrative Assistant at Apalachee High School, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Apalachee High School, Secondary Curriculum Coordinator, Gifted Coordinator, ESOL Coordinator, and Executive Curriculum Director for Barrow County Schools. Claire has served in a curriculum/supervision position for 10 of her 16 years in education. She is active in the Winder Rotary Club, where she serves on the Board as the Foundation Chair.
Claire earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a Major in Spanish Education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia, and is a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Policy Studies with a Major in Educational Leadership at Georgia State University. She will defend her dissertation Women Superintendents: Overcoming Barriers on September 16, 2009.
