Georgia Association of Educational Leaders

The Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL), Flowery Branch, Georgia, is seeking an executive director. GAEL is a professional membership organization providing a wide variety of services to the state’s educational leaders both directly and thorough six Affiliates: Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Leaders, Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals, Georgia Association of Middle School Principals, Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals, Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education, and Georgia School Superintendents Association. Minimum of a master’s degree in educational leadership or related field Experience as a classroom teacher and as a building level or central office public school administrator or the equivalent Experience in leading a large organization with multiple employees Experience in advocacy for public education including interactions with external organizations (example: legislature, state agencies, other associations, etc.)

Experience in Association management or a leadership position in an equivalent state-wide, regional, or national organization

Ability to travel extensively, particularly within the state of Georgia Effective written, verbal and organizational skills Ability to provide leadership in the areas of professional development, organizational development and advocacy Work to improve public education through high quality leadership development, advocacy and a resource network for educational leaders.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience; 12 month position
Benefits: a limited benefits package is available including sick and annual leave, a retirement annuity, and FICA
